You are invited to immerse yourself in an evening of evocative theatre and performance art. Inspired by ancient Japanese lore & drawing on local and international creative artists, prepare be captivated in a rare showcase of erotic culture, power and passion divined through Kinbaku/Shibari, spoken word, Oriental music and sword dance.
This evening is cultivated from the producers and performers joint love and desire of celebrating the shadow that dwells in each of us. The performers, in their unique ways, will challenge and delight the audience with emotive & explorative expressions of their art. This will be an evening where the audience can dip their toes in darker currents, allowing the range of emotive performances to delight and engage.

Milla Reika is set to enchant and captivate you. Travelling from her intensive training and performance background in Japan, Milla comes to Byron for the first time, specifically for this event. Using rope as her medium via seductive power play with tension and release, Milla transports her audience into a world where `Restraint` is a double-edged sword. Where pain becomes pleasure and restraint evokes a sense of liberation. This weekend is a rare opportunity to experience Mistress Milla's offerings both as a captivating performer, and an intuitive Shibari/Kinbaku facilitator.
Ikaiou Raven picked up her swords on emerging through the dark valleys of the shadows, tortures and taboo's inside the western cultural perceptions surrounding mental health crisis. Shadows born from a systematically disempowered, disconnected race. Recognising the sword as her ally in her inner world she bowed and turned to the swords in her bedroom, waiting to be claimed for all their beauty.
Ikaiou Raven is the name of the Sword Dancer within her. Drawing on her training and love of Contemporary Dance and Iaido, she seeks to connect with her audience deep within what is unnamed, unformed, unwavering and undisturbed.
Thomas Keily is an engaging & provoking spoken word performer. He brings his prowess and dynamic stage presence to The Beauty within Restraint, by drawing on his intimate understanding of Japanese culture & language. Tom will delight your imagination as he weaves story, poetry & Oriental essence into the evenings unfoldment.
